Based on the revolutionary solo stage production, Jodie’s Body examines the stories our bodies tell and the lingering effects of socio-political oppression.
Jodie lived through apartheid. She now reflects on it as she poses nude for a life-drawing class while deconstructing the importance of the human body and reassembling the truth about beauty and art.
Jodie’s Body was originally produced Off-Broadway at the Gene Frankel Theatre by The New Mercury Players, William Repicci & Michael Minichiello.
“Funny, moving, and very powerful. Aviva Jan Carlin is wonderful.” New York Times

The play was published as one of the season’s Best Short Plays and was nominated for several Drama Desk Awards. The play now comes to the screen starring Aviva Jane Carlin.
